Bereldange borders the city of Luxembourg, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The town of Walferdange is located in the Alzette valley, which is dominated by wooded heights on both sides. Of the three sections forming the municipality, those of Walferdange and Helmsange extend on the right bank of the river, while that of Bereldange extends on its left bank. The town is crossed by the national road 7 and the railway line which connects the north of the country to the capital.
